The government of Uganda has got support from USAID in order to develop eco-tourism in the protected areas. This program will certainly help in conserving and preserving the wildlife in the national parks. This will help to increase the number of tourists who come for safaris to Uganda.

Low funds affect Hotel classifications in uganda-Uganda Safari News
Uganda tourism Board lacks enough money to carry out the classification of the hotels in Uganda. This project is to be carried out by all the East African community members in order to develop uniform criteria throughout East Africa. 
This will certainly help in improving safaris in East Africa.
This exercise of classifying the hotels will certainly help in placing the hotel in classes according to standards, which will help in easing the movement of tourists who come for safari tours to East African countries. However, the government has not yet released the money to carry out the exercise.
The Hotels are classified according to stars and these include; five star, four star, three star, two star and one star, this helps in placing the hotels and lodges in levels. This will help the clients to easily get accommodation of their class of safari.
Uganda Tourism Board is a government body responsible for marketing of tourism in Uganda, so the agency cannot do this without a grading system. This has affected the tourism sector in the way that the projects have not been achieved therefore affecting safari visits in East Africa.
Hotel classification is considered to be a good tool for marketing the country’s tourism sector in the region. if this exercise is not carried out, the country will lose foreign exchange from tourism since the tourists need information concerning the standards and the grades of the hotels for the purpose of safety. This will help in increasing the number of safaris to Uganda.

New initiatives for Uganda’s tourism sector-Uganda Safari News

sm Board has come up with workshops which will help in improving the tourism sector in future. One of the initiatives will be the tight cooperation with the United Nations world Tourism Organization this will aim in implementing the marketing of the tourism industry, which will help in increasing safaris to Uganda.
Another initiative is engaging the local communities in the development of the tourism sector with in the country. This will help in empowering the local people to actively participate in tourism development. The local people will be able to produce tourism products like the crafts which can be bought by the tourists hence earning the people some incomes and also increasing Uganda safaris.
Uganda tourism board also is to create an initiative which will help in collaborating with the private stake holders so that they can achieve out of their input since they have greatly marketed and promoted the tourism sector to the outside world. UTB will help in developing and operationalizing market linkages, and also in developing new tourism products so that the number of tourists who come for safari tours to Uganda can increase.
Uganda Tourism Board has also helped in soliciting funds from all over the world so that the projects of the tourism sector can be well facilitated. This has also brought in the government to increase the finances which are given to the tourism sector in order to help in improving the roads and the accommodation facilities. This will help in increasing the number of people who come for safaris in Uganda.

VAT off key tourism services in Uganda- Uganda Safari News
Value added tax was recently introduced to all key tourism services but it has been removed. this is to help in increasing Uganda safaris since the cost of accommodation will certainly reduce which will help in attracting more visitors to Uganda. This will also help in increasing the revenues of the country, hence developing the tourism sector.
Recently all the accommodation facilities in the country where entitled to pay 18% VAT to the government, this largely affected the tourism sector because the number of tourists who come for safaris to Uganda had reduced, this was largely because the rates for both the lodges and the hotels were so high and this discouraged the travelers to make trips to Uganda.
The parliament recently agreed with the ministry of tourism to remove this VAT in order to encourage the proper development of the tourism industry and also to encourage more tourists to safari Uganda, this will help the accommodation owners to reduce the rates for the lodges especially those in the main national parks in Uganda.
The tour operators all over the country have greatly welcomed the idea saying because it going help to increase the numbers of tourists who come to Uganda for safaris, this will however, help in increasing the revenues of the sector and also helping in the development of the country at large.

Hotels used by tourists in Kampala-Uganda Safari News
Kampala city has got many hotels and lodges which are used by the tourists who come for safaris to Uganda. It has good rooms which include two presidential suites, eighty governor suites, 126 executive rooms and also 139 deluxe rooms; these have always accommodated many tourists who tour Uganda. This hotel has also got other facilities which are used by the tourists, these include; health facilities, airport transfer services and many more.
Another luxurious hotel is Sheraton Kampala Hotel and it’s also located in the heart of Kampala, it has a relaxed scenery view of the city and it’s a five star hotel, many tourists who come for safaris in Uganda have used this hotel because of its conducive facilities, these include the Rhino pub, the meals, swimming pool, shopping center and many more facilities that the visitors can need.
The lodge is also an accommodation facility which is used by the tourists who come for safari tours to Uganda. It’s a small hotel which has got only nine rooms, this lodge has got facilities which include a seating lounge in every room, and it has also got a good environment which is loved by many tourists who visit Uganda.
However , Kampala has got many hotels which are used by visitors who come to safari in Uganda, these include; emerald Hotel, tourist hotel, lake Victoria hotel, cassia lodge, and many others which have provided accommodation facilities to the tourists.
